GUARANTOR POWERS - SELF PORTRAIT TRIPTYCH

The Triptych

Guarantor Power #1 is a power that has a different view on me than most other people. They see me as a ray of sunshine, someone who is quiet on the inside but once you know them they become your best friend.
Guarantor Power #2 controls my life in a way which has helped me throughout the years. But they see me as sometimes a competitive person.

In the GP#1, I turned his words into visual representations that I used. For example, in the picture, it is, seen that I have my hood down from my jacket. That symbolizes the introverted personality I have.
The earbuds symbolize my love for music.
In the GP#2, I am holding an Xbox one controller with a headset. My body expression symbolizes my other side of me. How some others see me.
Controller symbolizes my love for games, any type whether its video games or fun party games in general
View of myself, the pencil symbolizes my love for drawing.
The bear symbolizes I like things to be peaceful and in a way, I'm still childish.

ARTIST STATEMENT
1. What did you feel frustrated about? The lighting in the photos, it was hard for the first GP#1 since the sunbeams were hitting the lenses of the camera.

2. What was satisfying to you when in the process or the finished product? In the process, because setting up everything for the picture. Everything had to be just right.

3. In what ways was your worked processed similarly? They were taken with almost the same lighting and almost in the same areas but all with different views and feeling.

4. If someone else were looking at the piece, what might they learn about who you are? In the photos, it is displayed that I'm enclosed in an area, not very social.

5. One thing I would like to improve on is a better angle and more detailed photos with much more going on in the background to make the main person stand out.

6. If I had a chance to redo this piece again, I would accept it. I would add more symbolism into the photos and more context on whats going on

Vivian Maier Inquiry

"Vivian Maier, from: http://www.vivianmaier.com/"
In this photo there are many young kids to be seen, while being in a small area inside the city. The kids seem to be playing out in a courtyard.

This photograph reminds me of someones childhood, or either our very own.

The photograph is in black and white taken from high point of some sort. Cars are in the background while the kids are more focused as they are more towards the center side of the picture.

The title I would give this photo would be "Busy Times"

"Vivian Maier, from: http://www.vivianmaier.com/"
In this photo, theres more space than actual people. One woman seems to be in the center of attention while shes walking all alone.

This photo reminds me of an empty hallway inside a place that seems to be a place where people pass by more often at different times.

It is full wide open with space with lines heading towards the woman who is the center of attention in the photo. An opening can be seen at the end of the big hallway, which the leading lines of the picture are pointed towards it.

The title I would possibly give this is "Shadow", Because of the pillars and where exactly the light source is, casts a shadow to the opposite side. What I think is happening in the photo is that a woman who is walking alone possibly heading towards a shop of some sort.

PHOTOGS CHOICE #1

In this photo, I decided to use some still life in my picture with some complementary colors. The reason I chose this photo, it shows a great close up of the object that's center of all the attention.

In this photo, a bit of leading lines is used. I chose this photo because of the well use of nature and man made structures all in one picture.

What I used for this photo was a great sense of light. Some reasons I chose it was because of the a part of the shade on the tree and the light reflecting off of it.

In this photo, it is portrayed as a plain photo. Why I chose this picture was to add some ordinary photos to mix in with some unique ones. There is a lot of contrast in this photo.

I used a small portion of leading lines. Added a sad, dreary tone into the picture by making it black and white representing sadness. I chose this picture from the perspective the person is being looked at.
